Why hand tied extensions?

Sewing in hand tied extensions means no glue or tape in your hair. This means no sticky mess when removing from your hair. There aren’t any polymer bonds so that means no harsh removers are placed on the hair when it’s time for them to come out.

Each row contains 10-15 very small points of contact with your own hair. Compare that to a head full of tape in extensions or 300 or with bonded or microbead extensions.

All wefts are custom colored so for a seamless blend with your own hair.

Who can wear Natural Beaded Rows?

NBR was created by Danielle K. White by putting her own spin on many beaded row methods she had tried. She has self proclaimed “toddler” hair. Stuck with her fine, thin hair, that broke easily she created a method that is completely customizable. NBR is a great choice for many different hair types and lengths, and while I do recommend this method for the ladies with fine hair, you must have hair dense enough through the top of your head to hide the rows.

Looking for thicker hair but not necessarily longer hair?

One row would be perfect for you! 4-6 wefts on one row will give you the fuller hair you desire!

Looking for longer hair?

If length is your desire your hair needs to be shoulder length (just touching the top of your shoulders). Ideally your top layer on your crown should be to your cheekbone. When you fill out the NBR application we ask for a photo of your current hair front and back as well as an inspiration photo (hair you’re dreaming of). From the application form we can determine whether or not you’re an ideal candidate for NBR.

We offer 14”, 18” and 22” Bohyme Luxe hand tied extensions.

BEFORE AND BEFORE! This is our own Taylor Johnson. She had been growing her hair out and wearing tape in extensions for 3 years. Her hair wasn't growing from the damage caused due to tape in’s. In January of 2018 we did our first installation of NBR on her. On the right was her before picture in December of 2018. We were astounded when we did a side by side before photo! She got to wear her 22 inch extensions AND her actual hair got longer and healthier! Left: 1/2018 Right: 12/2018

Are Natural Beaded Rows good for an active lifestyle?

YES! These extensions are so seamless they can be worn in many different styles that are cohesive with an active lifestyle. Braids, top knots and ponytails are all possible! That’s why we love these extensions so much!

What if I go on vaca or go swimming?

If you want to wear your NBR extensions on your next beach vaca or like to go swimming we recommend wearing them in a loose braid or low ponytail. Pile on the leave in conditioner and wash the ocean or pool water out of your hair as soon as you can.

Remember that the extensions need special care. The more you wash, dry, and expose them to things that dry them out the quicker you will have to replace the hair. The better you care for your wefts the longer they will last.

How often do I have to come in to get them maintained?

We recommend you come in every 6-8 weeks to have your rows removed and reinstalled. The rows will grow out with your hair and need to be put in snug again once they reach about an inch out from your scalp.

We do not recommend going more than 8 weeks for maintenance. The weight of the row will shift and can put stress on your front beads (cause damage). Going more than 8 weeks can also lead to tangling and matting if you’re not taking the time to really thoroughly brush your hair and the rows section by section.

How long can I keep my wefts before I will need to replace it?

On average most clients can keep their wefts for 6 months. We’ve seen some last longer and some shorter. The better you treat the hair and the seams at the top the longer they stay pretty! Omitting care or thorough, careful brushing will cause you to have to purchase new hair sooner than later.

Is it painful to get NBR?

This varies person to person. Some people have no discomfort and some do. We liken it to getting your nails done. You know how your nail beds can be tender for a day or so? NBR is similar. After 24-48 hours you will be all good. If you do have discomfort you will notice it primarily when you lay your head down.
